iTEC Diploma in Personal Training
(for qualified Fitness Instructors)

Aim of course:
The main aim of the VTCT/ITEC Diploma in Personal Training course is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to plan and instruct Personal Training sessions for clients in a gym setting and/or in a private training facility. This qualification will enable students to work with a variety of client goals for the general population as well as supporting clients with medical considerations in their health and fitness journey. Students who complete this course will also complete the full Award in Nutrition for Physicial Activity which will enable learners to prescribe a detailed Nutrition programme for their clients both remotely and in person.

Pre-Requisite Requirements:
Students must hold a minimum RQF Level 2 / EQF Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Instruction in order to enrol on this Personal Training only course option.
Students who hold a prior Fitness qualification qualify for recognition of prior learning (RPL) and therefore can enrol on the course to complete the Personal Training and Nutrition units in order to achieve their full Diploma in Personal Training.
The application for RPL can be discussed with each individual student in more detail.

You may be eligable for a Training Support Grant of up to €1,000. Check with your local welfare office for details. Payment plan options are available.
